How to Use Essential Oils for Acne
Topical Use
Start with the tiniest amount possible. The best way to use essential oils for acne is to apply 2–3 drops with a fragrance-free lotion or carrier oil such as jojoba or coconut oil. Before you apply any essential oil to your face, you should test it on your arm first, and then your jawline.
Precaution
Never put essential oils in or near your eyes. Even the vapors can be irritating. Do not use essential oils on your newborn’s baby acne or anywhere on your baby. If you have sensitive skin, dilute the essential oils with a carrier oil before applying topically. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight when treating acne with essential oils. The UV rays can make your skin more sensitive and may lead to skin irritations or redness. If using any essential oil causes skin irritation, you should no longer use that oil on your skin.
