Frankincense Oil

Boswellia carterii

Frankincense Essential Oil

The most reference Essential Oil in the Bible, Frankincense oil is extracted from the gum or resin of frankincense or olibanum trees, of the genus Boswellia carteri. Due to the anti-inflammatory effects of Boswellic acid found in frankincense oil, it has been traditionally used as a natural remedy. Once considered more valuable than gold, Frankincense has been referred to as "the holy grail of essential oils" because of its numerous mental and physical health benefits as an anti-inflammatory, astringent, antiseptic solution, disinfectant, deodorant, digestive aid, and diuretic.

Monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes are the most valuable elements of frankincense oil. Monoterpenes help eliminate toxins from the liver and kidneys and can deliver antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor and expectorant properties. It is believed by some that sesquiterpenes cross the blood-brain barrier helping to stimulate the limbic system of your brain, by raising the amount of oxygen near the pineal and pituitary glands, promoting secretions of antibodies, endorphins and neurotransmitters.
